We all struggle with various problems through our lives, have you ever stopped to think: “how did I manage to make it through that tough issue?” As believers in Christ, we can look to Jesus as a single source of Truth.

We do this by surrendering what we think to be true and submitting our thoughts to Christ. It can be difficult to break out of an egocentric frame of mind, especially if we have been stuck in that mindset for years.

However, The Apostle Paul reminds us that we should put on the mind of Christ by the washing of the Word.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:2

We can only be Christ led when we let go of our own thoughts and meditate on Jesus. Jesus said we can ask anything of Him and He will not only hear us, but He will answer. I remember a time in my career when I was battling a very complex and baffling issue. Four individuals in the company had already tried to solve this issue before they pulled me in.

I remember spending days on this issue before I laid down my pride and finally asked God for help. But, when I did, the answer had come to me in a split second. Before I even got the sentence out to God, He answered me.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

James 1:5

Conclusion

When we are faced with things we don’t understand, we can ask God for wisdom and He will grant it to us. We can put on the mind of Christ by submitting our own ways of thinking to Him and hearing His voice. We do this by meditating on Jesus and on His Word. In John 1, the chapter begins by describing how Jesus is the Word and the Word was with God in the beginning. This means that Jesus and God are one. The Jews called Jesus Emanuel, which means God with us.

So the next time you are faced with anything troubling, complex, or chaotic, be sure to take the time to stop, submit to God, and ask Him for the wisdom you need to get through it.

In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
